Transporting Children with Special Needs

        2 DAY CONFERENCE

The California Department of Education, in response to increasing requests for information and guidance regarding Special Education Transportation, is presenting its first “Transporting Children with Special Needs” Conference.

This is a two day conference that promises to be filled with useful information, laws and regulations, and best practices from around the State.

Some of the topics that will be covered include:

• Understanding the Special Education Process
• Confidentiality and the Special Education Student
• Public and Community Relations/Mandated Reporting
• Behavior Management
• Proper Loading/Unloading Techniques (including properly securing wheelchairs and their occupants)
• Special Education Evacuation (both classroom instruction and “hands on”)
• Special Education Policies and Best Practices: Developing/Improving your Parent and Driver Policy Handbook

ü      Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainers

ü      Transportation Administrators/Supervisors

ü      Dispatchers

ü      Anyone with a direct connection to Special Needs Transportation

The fee for the Transporting Special Needs Conference 2 day session is:

$150.00 per person. Space is limited, register early!
